The Anything and Everything Monthly Newsletter
Hey sqaures, did ya miss me! I know I get in a lot of writing ruts and won’t post for months at a time, but I am normally pretty good about getting my newsletter out every month. Well, over the summer my computer decided to give up on me so I was computerless for the whole summer. I finally got a nice new laptop that is hopefully gonna last a lot longer than my old one and will be great not only for me finishing up school but for writing for you guys! As opposed to just giving you what I’ve watched/listened to this month, I have compiled just huge lists of some of the highlights (and lowlights) from my summer to make up for the last four months. With my new computer, I will be posting a lot more because lots of great things did come out over the summer that I want to talk about and discuss but there are also lots of things that are coming soon that are gonna have some interesting things to dissect. It is really great to be back and thank you all for sticking around and staying on that follower’s list while I encountered a small technical bump in the road; it is really nice to have the support of you guys through the good and the bad. Without further a due, let’s jump into business and make it a kickass newsletter.

Announcements/updates (and there are a lot!)
- Weekly Papers: Last year while working on my degree in journalism and film studies, I took a lot of nerdy film classes where I had to write a lot of pretty nerdy types of papers — if you remember all the way back to May, I shared one of the better argumentative papers from my Film History class. Well, I thought there was no better place to share these writings than right here on my own blog! Now they are not all as good as my Film History paper or my Patti Smith author study I posted a while back but they are still pretty interesting and fun if you are into stuff like that (and since you are subscribed here …I’m assuming you are!). I just really want to publish some of the stuff that I have written that nobody has actually ever seen so keep your eyes peeled for that.
- The Bark: If you are new here or are unaware, I am a proud member of my college’s newspaper, The Bark! But this year is an extra special year for me there because I am the official Editor in Chef! So sometimes I will take some reviews from here and publish them for The Bark as well. Please subscribe to the newsletter for that and follow on all the socials to keep up-to-date with some of the other things that I write that I might not necessarily post here.
- Lemon Twigs concert: Normally I write about my concert-going experiences on here but once again… no computer this summer! In May, Nancy with a Z and I went to go see The Lemon Twigs (my second time) and opening band Tchotchke — to say the least…it was AMAZING. The show was a little low energy for it being on a Wednesday but just getting to be there was so cool and at the end of the night we even got to meet the two bands and almost died! One of the best small show performances I’ve been to because it was just so nice not only getting to take pictures with the bands but actually being able to talk to them and engage in a conversation. Lead singer, Micheal, from The Lemon Twigs, and I talked about drumming and stuff and I kept like stroking out; it was pretty damn great!

- New header photo: As you guys can see, there are no more eyeballs at the top of the newsletter! Trust me, we are still just as weird and crazy here at Anything and Everything but I just thought a nice new picture would give a beautiful fresh start from my summer hiatus! This picture was taken by the one and only Erik Poffenberger who is not only a photographer…but is my boyfriend (pause for dramatic effect and or laughter).
- Boyfriend alert: Now we all remember how exciting it was when my best friend/blog rival Nancy with a Z got her boyfriend (it even made one of the Anything and Everything monthly newsletters). Well, I have finally done it, I trapped one of my own! I don’t know how but I guess I am just so damn charming he couldn’t resist. The reason I wanted to bring this up is that we have a lot of concerts planned together and you guys are probably gonna be seeing his dumb face and some of his photography around Anything and Everything for a while!

Nancy with a Z and Izabella smiling at the fact that they tricked them both!
- New ink: I got some pretty cool new tattoos over the last month that I needed to share with you guys! The first one is super nerdy and I have been wanting to get it for a while now; it is a tambourine. Doesn’t sound too nerdy right — WRONG! I play tambourine for our pep band and whenever I play I get this GOD awful bruise on my wrist so I wanted the tattoo to be in the same spot I get my bruise! The second tattoo is in memory of my late Auntie Carol who would have sold her whole family for the chance to meet Axel Rose even if it was only for like 10 minutes. She was one of my favorite people in the whole world and I miss her every day but knowing that she is listening to Guns N Roses with God right now makes it sting just a little less.
- Clerks 3: I’m sure you guys are done hearing about me and my life and want some actual content! Well it is official, Kevin Smith has finished up the third movie in the Clerks trilogy and Nancy with a Z and I already have our top secret tickets to go see it! The film’s concept is basically that of Smith writing the first Clerks. The idea for it is just so brilliant and it is really going to highlight how much of a film genius Smith really is. We are set to go see it on November 4 at a special showing but it is going to be officially released on Sept 13, 2022. There WILL be a review on that and an event piece written about going to the show like I did with Jay and Silent Bob Reboot so make sure you are subscribed and keep checking back around November.
Monthly movie quote
Every month I will give out a movie quote to see if YOU guys are up to date on your movies! Answers will come out in the next newsletter! Now out of all honesty, because it has been so long I don’t remember what the last quote was from so we are just gonna forget about it and start fresh!
“And I promise you I’ll never desert you again because after ‘Salome’ we’ll make another picture and another picture. You see, this is my life! It always will be! Nothing else! Just us, and the cameras, and those wonderful people out there in the dark!”
