What I listened to over the last month that you SHOULDN’T listen to!
- Level Up, Ninja Sex Party (2021)

This album….holy shit! The whole idea behind the release of this album was for Ninja Sex Party to release a bunch of their old songs again but with better sound and equipment since they are big and rich now. In my mind, I was assuming it was going to be something like a remastered album where mostly everything sounds the same but it just has the word, remastered, slapped at the end of it ā WRONG! They redid every single song and 90% of them sounded like trash. The charm of NSP and their early music is that it was so good for what they were working with which was practically nothing ā they added too many extra bells and whistles to the songs forcing them all the sound exactly the same which was annoying. They also left out a lot of the funny one-liners that were intertwined within the songs which was also a huge blow! The only song that was actually done well was Dinosaur Laser Fight. The original song is super fast and upbeat and for this version, they slowed it down and made it into this hilarious ballet. There are certain like, mouth-made sound effects from the original that they replaced as just spoken word which was also just super funny. But other than that, the album was an ass fire and a waste of my time.
