June Newsletter 2021

The Anything and Everything Monthly Newsletter

School is almost out, the weather is hot as balls and I am moist constantly…must mean that Summer is here! The last month I have been soaking up the sun, reading, listening to music and watching movies — basically what I do every month I guess but it is good to keep my people updated! Last summer sucked pretty hard so this summer I am making up for all of it: I’m going to Colorado, I am going up north (to a Minnesotan, that’s like paradise), I have tickets to the Hella Mega Tour, I might go see Styx and that is just the start of it! Continue reading for some more updates about what I’m doing this summer but don’t be afraid to comment and let me know the cool things YOU are doing this summer and then I will read them — it;s a two players way!

What I listened to over the last month that you should be listening to

What I watched over the last month that you should be watching

  • It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia

Before we get any farther on this list….holy shit! My good pal and partner in crime, Nancy with a Z, recommended It’s Always Sunny and I wasn’t going to watch it solely based on the last show she recommended to me (The Venture Bros) was absolute garbage and therefore I developed some small trust issues. BUT, I finally caved and it is the best thing I have ever done! It is one of my new favorite shows and in less than a month, I am almost halfway through the series. I love it so so so much and would honestly recommend it to ANYTONE who owns a television set — it is one of the greatest shows ever written and everyone needs to know how kickass it is. Thank you.

What I watched over the last month that you SHOULD NOT be watching

  • The Virgin Suicides

I thought this movie was super long, boring and straight up lame. I’m all for a good mystery, but there was no mystery to solve; they all died…that was it. They were sending strange letters to the neighborhood boys then they all died just as the title told us from the get go. Their parents were nut jobs and that was the reason that they all killed themselves, that’s not really a twist or a mystery — and if it was, you figured it out in the first seven seconds of the film. Honestly, one of the worst movies I have ever seen and would not recommend.

  • Rings (2017)

This horror sequel was so bad, I couldn’t even finish it. First off, it is like 2 hours which was completely uncalled for. In the first movie, The Ring, it was long because there was an actual plot with things going on so it needed some extra time to blow everyone’s minds. Rings, had a plot that was very bad and very simple so it didn’t need to be as long. I really don’t remember what this movie was about because it was that bad. There is one thing I remember very vividly and it is that when Samara makes her first appearance in 15 years, she looks like one of those things you put in water and then it grows but it gets all plasticy and rubbery and discussing. Then when she stands up she looks like Rob Zombie’s Michael Myers (AKA a full-ass man).

Monthly movie quote

Every month I will give out a movie quote to see if YOU guys are up to date on your movies! Answers will come out in the next newsletter!

Answer from last month: Talladega Nights

“The Zen philosopher Basha once wrote,’A flute with no holes is not a flute. A donut with no hole is a danish.'”

  1. Okay 2 things:
One- Have you been under a rock? How can you, the tv and movie influencer, not have already been an It’s Sunny fan!?! I started watching it years ago when I would work out, and I’d be on the machines laughing so hard that I’d have to stop working out!

Two- strongly disagree with Virgin Suicides review. The cinematography is dreamy, the score by the band Air is AMAZING, and the soundtrack is solid! But then again, I’m Gen X and this was cool “back then”…
